Gobo YOOF: Frequently Asked Questions

What are the fees?

Fees are currently £204 per term (on average 12 sessions). All sessions need to be paid for irrespective of attendance, unless you join later in the term.

Gobo Theatre Foundation offers support to those who might require it so that youth theatre can be enjoyed by all. If your family/household income is below £40,000 and you would like to apply, please let us know and we will provide a form. No subsidies are guaranteed.

If you prefer to pay in staggered payments, please get in touch.

What happens at a typical Gobo YOOF session?

You’re with us for 2½ hours on a Saturday from 10am-12:30. But you get
a little break don’t worry! We rotate in groups around acting, singing, dancing and stagecraft.

We recommend clothes & shoes you can move easily in – not jeans, uggs or flip flops. Please bring a drink and a snack for the break.

There is no experience required however we do ask for your commitment by attending all sessions and learning what is necessary.

Is there a show?

We ultimately work towards a production in July every year – with a
dress rehearsal on Friday, and two performances on Saturday & Sunday. This is usually the third weekend in July so keep it clear!

What about costumes and props?

We are a charity and money is not as plentiful as we’d like it to be so
while we will try and provide what we can, there will be some things
participants may have to bring for themselves.

Don’t worry it won’t be: “Please make Bill a life-size whale costume for next week”, it’ll be more like: “Everyone needs to wear blue, or have a white t-shirt” or something.

Thanks for your support with this.

Is there a First Aider on site?

There is not always a first aider on site. However, there are first aid facilities and our tutors have a process to follow should any incidents arise.

We try to manage any risks, though of course this is an active hobby.

Everyone from Gobo receives training in safeguarding and you are welcome to read our policies and assessments.

I’ve got a question – how can I contact you?

Please get in touch via the Contact Us page.
